New Hobby

I need a new fucking hobby. All I do is push websites and right now I have so many on the go that It’s fucking crazy. I have my “brothah” blog with the boys. I have this one (as you can see It’s never updated). I have my systems administration blog for my work deals (also never updated). I also have my home theater project doing well but I need time to write. I have tons of random blogger blogs doing whatever. I have about 6 random domains just sitting there getting old so I can pound them on Google.

All this for what? So I can make 0 in Google Adsense, so I can make $0.49 for 6000+ with link bucks. The internet is my time waster. It is the one thing that fills me with hope and yet steals all my time on random busy work bullshit. Yes I can setup word press and pluggins with my eyes closed. Yes I can drive traffic to them. The only thing I should be doing is setting up auto blogs. That worked well, despite the nasty emails I got from some woman in the US who may or may not been able to sue me.
I need to go back to the gym. I need to start fighting, or playing soccer or fucking doing something that will get me out of the house and kill this fucking rut I’m in.

day-2-day

So I’ve been waiting for something crazy to happen to me so I can blog about it. This hasn’t happened. I have been thinking over and over about something cool to blog about. Again, hasn’t happened. I have come to the understanding that I have become old and or boring. I don’t really do anything. I get off work and de-stress. I hang out with my buddy cjos because he lives about 4 blocks from me.

My girlfriend and I have been putting our little apartment together one thing at a time. We got a book shelf, we got a storage unit. Things are coming together. I find myself having spare time now that my girl is gone back to school this means she has homework and stuff to do. What in the fuck do I do with myself?

I have been looking around and trying to improve as much of my tech stuff as I can. My download box has been giving me trouble. I have moved it to our server room and am waiting for it to fail. It’s on our big UPS so power is rules out. If/when it stops working I will moved the monitor down to it and find out what in the hell is happening. If it’s a blue screen or a system hang I will re-seat the ram. You might be wondering about software, simple. It doesn’t have any. It’s a little XP box that boots up and runs SABNZBD. This little guy was my Dads old workstation. It got replaced but I thought maybe it just needed a reinstall. The problem seems like it’s more than that. Depending on what happens I will just replace it with an Atom mini box. I think I’ll splurge and get the better one that’s a dual core and has 2 ram banks that way I can use SABNZBD’s extra memory add-ons and get my par checks and unrars done fast. Meaning, if I need to download a new episode of True Blood, it’ll unpack in a few mins. I like to go from download to watching in fewer than 4 mins. That’s the goal.

I’ve also found out that XBMC on windows is fucking crushing. I need to get an MCE remote so I can use it correctly. Then maybe buy some tuner cards so I can use the PVR shit. It also has a SABNZBD download add-on that will let me download TV shows from XBMC. That’s fucking sexy.

So I’ve been busy….I guess.

I have gotten fat. My gut is comming back. I am checking out Snap fitness. It's up the street from me. It's also $39.99 with no contract and its 24 hours. I'm game. Even if I just rock the tredmill 4 times a week. But I gotta hit up freetrainer.com and get my shit back in line.

Life

So I have been a busy little beaver this past while. Most of my interneting is done while I’m at work. I can be on the phone working with a customer and setup, manage, and push my websites. Or I can just look at 4chan and help people. Either way I can do lots when I’m working remotely from my power center (desk) at work. This week I have been doing lots of onsite calls. Setup routers here, restage laptop there. This leaves me with just my little BlackBerry 8530. I can surf simple things like googling “tits” or trying to view new posts at fuckwork.ca. I’m sometimes kind of jealous of Dannies Iphone because I could be doing fun shit while I wait for someone to do something. Nope, I check my emails, my txts, change the background on my phone and repeat.

I have also stopped being an internet asshole. I will no longer comment spam, linkwheel, backlink hijack, or any other of the shady methods I have learned. I did get an email from some bitch in CA about how recipebot was stealing content. I was able to tell her to go fuck herself and explain the difference. I also told her that I could take her content and spin it so it was original. Just as I was about to hit send it came to me. I was using my work email address. How can I pick fights on the internet, exploit loop wholes and all that good shit? I couldn’t. I have to play nice.

If you’ve noticed I have put some google ads in this here blog and I have started another one. My new one is my super nerd blog. I have to find some way of making my Cisco training and Systems administration learning fun and exciting. Now I can bitch and moan about everything computers. Because really no one gives a shit about half the stuff I deal with in my normal 9-5 work week.

Burlington Ribfest = fun

My girl and I went to the Burlington Ribfest. It was awesome. Here is a little bit of what happened.

New shit for the shoebox.

Dannie and myself had to goto Ikea. Yes, we are real people some times. We whent there and got this little bad boy. Really, she got it. I don't think I have been with a girl who has bought something for the house with her own money. this is a big step. Holy shit. Now that shes working we are unstopable!

Dos + windows 7 = motherfucker.

This is what my monitor has to look at today. Today I have to fix this doods accounting program because he can’t print the checks. Oh, it’s an old DOS program. Guess what, he’s running windows 7. This is a bitch, support for this program had me use DOSBOX to get fullscreen….oh but they forgot to tell me that DOSBOX has no printing support. I even tried the CSV setup but that still didn’t work. I open the old network share and the database is fucked. So I’m talking to support and everything’s fucked. I didn’t even want to pick up this call in the first place.

Fixing other peoples computers is fucking bullshit.

So I've been a busy little beaver. I have been setting up a small webforum for myself and the other boys. A common meeting place on the internet if you will.



I have gotten everything installed with my free hosting setup by FreeHostingCloud.com. Don't point your domain there. I have yet to find out if they are good or not. All I know is that my 15meg speedtest came down at 1.9mbit/sec. I'll take fast free hosting. I might have to contact the admin and let him know that I'm not a retard and work with him to keep the box working.

Anyways, I have installed Simple Machines Forum. It looks good. the only problem I'm having right now is that when you go to the admin pannel and click on admin you get a sweet error 500



Yeah, how awesome is this? it's eather something to do with the file permissions on the box (but I did set them as per the install guide). Now it is left in the hands of the Simple Machine forum nerds. It's been about 20 mins and no reply. This might take a while.

So it turns out in our office we have a dog. My dear dads dog can open the back door. The problem with that is that it lets flies in. This summer has been hot and humid. So, I goggled to find an answer. This little guy caught 10 flies in two days. We are looking into why there are so many damn flies in our office. It's like trouble shooting computers in Africa (was that insensitive?).

So it's the day of Donnys wedding. It's 10:05am. We are already running 30 mins late. I don't care. I've read over my speach a few times. I've chilled out as much as I can. I need something to do. I'm ready to go, I have what I need to get Dons ass down the ile no problem. I have time and a coffee. Here's what I've been looking at to make myself feel better. Shity best men.

Store for fun.

I have lots of domains. Right now I own about 6 and run about 3. These are mine. Not my customers. a while back I threw up hosting and a website on recipebot.org I did this so that I could steal other people shit and black hat seo it. Well after a few threatning letters I threw it to just a self updating link site. And there it sits getting better and better google traffic. I just need this little guy to age.

Latly I have been pondering the idea of setting up an online store. I could sell pretty much anything. I can seo websites that get traffic. I just need to figure out some things about an online store. I have the scripts and the open source shopping carts that will do everything. I have found some that have Canada post modules. The only thing I need to find is how in the fuck I setup _free_ creditcard gateways.

That is when you put in your creditcard it will take the cost of shipping (that should be correct) and pin it to your bill. Then it will charge your creditcard and send you a recipt. I just don't want to pay the $700 for a payment gateway threw the banks or paypal. So I'll have to check that out.

Once I get the store up and running (1and1.coms subdomain creation takes 4 hours.... but what should I expect spending about $3.00 a month on hosting).

I'm excited. I'll show it off once it's up and running. the idea is if I can setup one. Then I should be able to setup 100000.

WDTV Live better not suck.

This is the western Digital Live (or live plus). Its a little set top media player. I really wanted the Patriot Box Office. The white papers I've read only the Patriot Box Office can play pretty much anything. I don't want to deal with codecs or other random bullshit. I also Hope that my WDTV Live will be able to play files right from a samba share. I don't want to install any media streamers, codec strippers or any other bullshit. I have a linux box hooked up to an external esata raid 5 box. Samba is in full share mode so there should be no problems. I also want something that can play most codecs. avi, mpg, divx, iso, all the shit that I'm going to come accross when I download stuff.

I'll be damned if I'm going to install converters on my raidbox so I can watch the latest episode of trueblood. come on homos. All the reviews on tiger (33 of them) were good. There were a few people who gave it a 2 or a 3 but they sounded stupid. I think I'll have better sucess with this for these reasons.

1. No wireless, sure it supports it. but wtf. wireless G is slower then my gigabit lan. sure I could go N, but fuck that. I have boxes of cat 6 and my place is small

2. I can update my firmware. I'm also not retarded, the people who briked there first generation boxes because they did a web update deserv it. Hell I feel bad updating wii's, ps3 and xboxes. I update bios firmware via cds. I dont even use USB.

3. Hacked firmware - WDLXTV I love to hack stuff. If I had a ps3 I would install Ubuntu (or Centos, yellow dog is for fags).

6. I'll take it back if the fucker doesnt work. I have shirts with collars on them. I'm comming on 30. I'll just play dum and bitch.

Kids piss me off. Well not really, shity kids with shity parents piss me off. I was thinking about this today when I was driving to a job today. I saw a mom and her kids at a red light. The mom told the kid not to run accross the street. The kid did anyways. The mom ran after. Part of me was hope'en the kid got hit by the car. It would be sad, but it would be a good life lesson.

My job Sucks.

I hate my job. There I’ve said it. I don’t like it. I don’t like my customers. I don’t like how all the power player owners think there so awesome because they have companys that make money. I hate the egos. I hate how I’m pressured and threatened with getting sued all the time. I hate how I work for my family. I work in one little room and have to listen to right winged politics all day long. I listen to my brother and dad banter about US politics and how Obama is driving the free world into the ground. I do like coming to work. My walk to work is about 21 steps. That’s awesome. Everything else I don’t really like.

I don’t get training. I have to figure everything out. That’s fine. The only problem is if I’m stuck working on trying to figure out how to work ALC rules on a Cisco for a long time I get my hours cut. I love being commission only. It’s awesome. I love no holiday pay for what I do. I do get a very high commission rate for the hours that I work. Oh, but if I don’t bill any hours on a slow day or I work on something I’ve never done before I get my hours cut.

I am not a shitty computer tech. Every computer job I’ve ever had I have risen to the top. When I was in London I aced ever computer test at ever computer job I have ever had. I am not going on this rant because I am so good at computers. I really feel that I know little compared to everyone else. My job is just about high stress levels and no money. It’s fucking awesome. Almost every day I work my stress levels peak to the point that I want to kill myself. No joke, when I get high levels of stress I freak out.

Really, what am I to do? Everyone I talk to says “it’s hard to find a job in this economy” and yes, you are correct. It is fucking hard. When I was in London I had a shitty time. I honestly feel like I should rewind my life back to when I was living with L and M and working for my old computer company. I was having such a good time.

Now I bitch and rant on the internet.

Bell Morning Fun

So my boss’s email isn’t forwarding to his Black Berry account. Yes, I’m not a retard. I deleted his email and re-created as an alias and forwarded to his new domain email and added the forwarders to his Black Berry. So the Bell tech adds his test gmail account to the main forward line via the web portal. He sends some test emails and tells me it’s not working. I’m not here to slam on the fact that he did exactly what I did to test/setup this email forward.

The main reason for this blog post is we chatted. I told him about what this company does, how the sliding tarp systems work (kind of I’m not a trucking man). He then told me he was in New Brunswick and that there is mainly logging trucks. He also when on to explain that in New Brunswick they are closing most of the logging camps and it’s really hurting the economy.

Now before anyone calls me a fag for having a nice little morning conversation with someone who is working a shity job understand that I basically was this dood. Someone who cares about there job but has to sit in a call center and deal with bullshit all day long. Hell, I’m basically a help desk agent right now (while on hold waiting for him to create a ticket).

I guess what I’m trying to say is be nice to phone support techs. They usually hate there life.

Sick Beard or not to Sick Beard

So I run a small download box that downloads all my shit. We'll say linux distros and rpm mirrors......*cough* right now my downloads are pulling from an rss feed. So, if I were to be downloading TV shows for example I would get weekly updates from SABnzbd+.

From this plugins page I have found that it does

•automatic torrent/NZB download for new episodes
•XBMC library updates and NFO/TBN generation
•renames episode files for any show
•sends NZBs directly to SABnzbd, prioritizes and categorizes them properly
•available for any platform, uses simple HTTP interface

-I already have automatix nzb/torrent downloads via sabnzbd and utorrnet (try there webui its pretty sweet too).

-XBMC is pretty much dead and gone since I hooked up my quadcore to my tv. Bluerays play np.

-SABnzbd already has episode rename

-I have the webloader or the nzb watch folder. oh, and auto sorting.

-Again, I don't use XBMC and I'm not a mac nerd so I don't care about Growl notifications

So I have found out that sickbeard isn't really that much better then sabnzbd. I will have to look at it closer but Episode Buttler has bult in meta tag downloads from TV rage.

New Phone.

So two weeks ago I lost my phone. Yeah, yeah. Anyways. I have made my peace with the passing of my little BlackBerry Curve 8330. The baby/poor mans BlackBerry. After nuking my phone threw our Black Berry Enterprise server it was time to get a new one. I called our supliers and they wanted $400 for a new one. Telus (horrible) was able to get me a replacement for $299.00 Wow, what a savings. I'm getting a bold........oh wait. I'm getting my girl back, just a little better.

I'm now the proud owner of a Black Berry Curve 8530. This is a better phone. Here are some of the differences between my old phone and my new one.

1. No more pearl! that fucking ball that would fly out and go back in if dropped in the right way. Or if you spaz out and throw your Black Berry on the tile floor (don't tell my bosses). Now I have the little touch pad. Not as good I find and it does show off my natural finger grease (I'm a sweater not a masterbator).

2. Wifi - My old phone was a telus "GPS" phone. Or, nothing because the telus navigator just hung and never worked for shit. Everyone loves to say "Get a wifi Black Berry your emails will send threw the wifi" ------------NOPE! wrong phone nerds. I've turned off my XEV connection (yeah, why would I need 3g I'm on telus....oh right. fuck). I then sent an email. If you watch carefully it connects back to the cell network and sends. there go's that.

3. Its just a better phone. Sure I can't play zombie farmer or anything fun like my girlfriend can on her iphone. but then again I can whipe my phone and re-load it threw Black Berry Enterprise server in about 6mins. I'm not cool anyways. Why should my apps be?

So here I am. I have a newer Black Berry, I got another 16gig micro SD for it and it works about the Same. Telus fucked me yet again, my dear Dad got me a red Black Berry. I wanted to replace with a Black one (because I'm not a fucking kid). Guess what, no go.

I was in Toronto today setting up a server. While looking for the right suit I found this one. I fell in love.

So it’s come back to it. Earlyer in the year I was hitting the gym 3 times a week and doing my mixed martial arts classes two times a week. This let me drop about 20LBS in 6 months. That made me feel fucking awesome. I felt strong, hot and sexy. Now, after landing my dreamboat girlfriend I let my body to the comfy relationship slide. I have gained about 5 pounds back. I have also been instructed by my doctor to get more exercise. So like a good lad I am starting to go back to the gym. I have updated my account on freetrainers.com. I also have reactivated my account on bodybuilding.com. I am also thinking about playing soccer in the fall. I need to do something. The beach body I wanted so bad is late. I don’t think I can walk around shirtless like I used too. I know, it’s shity. The only thing I can do is get ready, drive to the YMCA and pray to god that my membership hasn’t nsf’d to the point of paying money. Pffff you people know I’m broke. Fuck that noise.

Food for thought.

So my diet it kind of fucked up at the moment. On one hand I want to start going back to the gym. I would love a bigger body and hell, maybe even a six pack. I still have my YMCA membership that I am going to use tonight. They say a body builder is made in the kitchen not in the gym. I guess that’s true. I also have my brother telling my that the only way to shed the pounds quickly (without busting your ass for years to get the last 10 lbs) is to cut out carbs.

The only other weightless expert in my life is someone who sounds kind of preachy then eats a little bit of shit themselves. I have no problems with cutting out carbs. Well, that’s not totally true. I have read the benefits about cutting out all carbs and making my body hypoglycemic. I can do this. The only problem with it that I have is that I love potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, corn, etc. I have cut out most sugars. Sure I cheat and eat crap every once in a while. But really, are potatoes that bad? Is rice that bad? I would think that probably not. Yet if you look at when carbs are used it’s usually for cheap energy or hell, even filler. I mean take a look at a standard breakfast that you would go out for on a Sunday with your parents. Eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns. They give you lots of hash browns and more toast then eggs. Look at sushi, most of it is just sushi rice.

I love beer. Beer is my easy drinking drunk or relaxing time. I really don’t like hard liquor unless I’m shooting it to get drunk. I don’t want to give it up and drink vodka. Eewwww, I’m no Russian.

For now I’ll just keep everything to a minimum. I will try, but hell if I eat a potato who gives a shit.

So I’m the best man to one of my best friends. This means I have to setup the bachelor party. I don't plan. I did the facebook message, invited all the people I don't know. I talked to the groomsmen. I don't know how to plan these things. All the fun things I've herd from TV and other people have been nuked. There will be no strippers.



Now I'm not saying that we need strippers to have fun. Hell thats not even close. I dont really want to see some random chick rubbing her snatch on my buddys face. I do like boobs but really I guess I just don't want this night to be like all the rest. We drink and party pretty much every weekend.

We have cut out the ball and chain bullshit. I dont think were going to pull out the groom t-shirt or any of that shit. I was thinking a t-shirt with the words "Gay Lord" would have been fun but I didnt pull that off.
